NDA uses Woz Ed for STREAM

WHY Woz Ed 

In 1978, Steve Wozniak single-handedly built the Apple II computer, a computer that would change the way people interacted with technology. Well now he is here to help support education.personalized learning programs so that learners can enroll, learn, master, get out into the workplace faster, and start a career in high tech. Why NDA supports new ways of learning 

NDA would like to build future leaders in STEM for God and our Country! Students learning while maintaining our identity that God is in everything and STREAM is the way to go. By expanding our partnerships (like WozED) with the public we can begin to push STREAM further while sharing our message. We have ambitious plans for the future and we will give the students all the tools they need to truly excel in STREAM Class. WozEd supports teachers with FULL lesson plans, procedures and materials along with training to support the teacher. This is exploratory learning at its best. 

Having Woz Ed. at NDA has created excitement in our school community. Parents have enrolled their children at NDA (South Buffalo Catholic) because they heard what we were doing with our STREAM Program. We hired a full time STREAM teacher; Rebecca Roussev to teach 6th-8th grade. The students who are enrolled are excited to start their journey of STREAM learning.

 Robotics, Animation, and Aviation has already been explored this and we are hoping to expand the 2nd half of the year with the next Woz. Ed kits specifically Earth Science. What is so great about these kits ? They are fully immersive curriculum, with hands on student driven learning. Theses kits support teachers with active lesson plans, professional development, Tech or lesson support and community development support. By expanding our partnerships with the public, we are already seeing a difference. We can begin to push STREAM further while sharing our message: God is in everything. 

We have been teaming up with leaders in our faith communities to create community partners. We have already gathered partners  with Fitzhenry LDI and NEWMARK CIMINELLI. and a few others. At NDA we are focused on implementing Woz. Ed at the middle school level in a fully immersive STREAM school setting 1st and will slowly bring in partners that become sponsors of each kit. We will be meeting formally once a month. And communication will be consistent with 4 strategic partners.
