NDA Media Club is a video production club at Notre Dame Academy. Through a STREAM grant and with the closing of Daybreak TV Productions (the Television Production Company for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo) Notre Dame Academy was able to purchase Daybreak's video equipment which enables the live streaming of events at NDA. NDA students are learning to operate professional-grade video cameras and act as a Technical Director, and Audio Operator.
The media club is now producing the morning announcements and live streaming them to the classrooms. Students are learning to be newscasters in-addition to operating the cameras, audio and streaming software. They can take the "show on the road" to record concerts and other events.
We are expanding media club to include photography. The students are helping take pictures and report on sporting events and other activities. They photos are featured on social media and in the yearbook.
In 2019, the student crew recorded a Student Council inspired video on Kindness. This video was met with great response and was distributed via the Notre Dame Academy Social Media platforms, which include YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. The NDA Media Club has won 2 National Video Awards - a Communicator Award and a Videographer Award.
