My experience at Notre Dame Academy began as a fourth-grade teacher for two years at the Abbott Road Campus. During this 2022 - 2023 school year, I was given the opportunity to teach Science to the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at the Okell Campus.
Previously, I had taught various grade levels for ten years at different elementary schools within the Diocese of Buffalo. I had the opportunity to attend St. Mark School, as well as the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart for my elementary and high school years; and I am extremely proud to continue to be actively involved in Catholic education.
As an instructor at Notre Dame Academy, it is my goal to encourage excellence in not only my students, but myself, as well. It has always been my philosophy to become familiar with each one of my students to determine which learning styles apply to them. I pride myself in taking the time to evaluate each student and address their individual learning styles whenever the opportunity presents itself. As a science teacher, I not only want to teach my students the curriculum, but also allow them to "experience" what they are learning with a variety of "hands-on" lab experiments and engaging activities.
I have high, but reasonable expectations of my students. By working together, we as a team can develop creativity, communication, responsibility, and critical thinking.
