STREAM Night is dedicated to encouraging kids to explore their interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math through fun and engaging ways. This event is FREE and open to the community and kids of all ages welcome to participate.

STREAM Activities

• Kids Business Corner - Students are required to develop a business plan, marketing materials and complete a sales pitch the day of the event to the judges.  They can sell their products the night of the event.

• Paper/Straw Airplane Station - Come make your own paper airplanes and see how they fly. Determine what materials and styles work best.
• Robot hands

• Build a Paper Rocket
• Play mini golf - Stream students have made holes themselves.
• Drone Flying Demo
• Sphero Demo

Science Fair

Part of the middle school Science curriculum is learning about the scientific method. The 6th-8th graders practice this method when doing their weekly science labs. For the science fair project our students are working on, they have been given the opportunity to choose a category of science that they are interested in (for example: earth science, space science, physical science and life science to name a few). Using the chosen category of science, students have come up with a problem that they would like to find out the answer to. Students needed to research information about their problem and then be able to test it out through an experiment. Before testing out the problem, they wrote a hypothesis and listed the all of the needed materials for the experiment. Step by step procedures explain exactly how they went about performing the experiment. Students write down observation notes, measurements, etc to display what was found in graphs or data tables. Lastly, students show what they learned from doing the experiment and if their hypothesis was correct or incorrect. If the hypothesis was incorrect, students will explain what they could do better if the experiment was to be completed once again.

• 6th Grade will present from 5:30 - 6:00 pm
• 7th Grade will present from 6:00 - 6:30 pm
• 8th Grade will present from 6:30 - 7:00 pm

There will be food to purchase at the event by the PTO. There will be hot dogs and hamburgers, chips, water, pop and a dessert table.
