Notre Dame Academy Families: SPORTS ARE NOT GOING AWAY - We received word from Dr. Uhl and the Diocese of Buffalo, that: “The Diocese will be unable to sponsor athletic leagues after this academic year due to budget restraints." We wanted you to know that we understand the impact and importance that our Athletic Programs provide for our students, athletes, and their families. Most of our athletic teams participate in Independently ran leagues: Our Soccer teams participate in the Father Baker League, our Basketball teams (1st-6th) participate in the Father Schaus League, our Baseball teams participate is in the Southtowns Parochial League, Track participates in the SITA League (Southtowns Invitational Track Association), and Hockey participates in the Harbor Center League - These leagues would not be affected by this.
We are working with these leagues and other Athletic Directors and volunteers to ensure that we will be able to provide: Varsity Basketball, Cross Country, and Softball to our students through Independently run leagues. While we are upset to hear about this news, we want you to know that Notre Dame Academy is working to continue to provide all of our athletic programs to our students in 1st-8th grade moving forward.
